Samantha ‘Samii’ Jayne loves animals.
Her role in the defeat of the alien invaders bestowed upon her a level of fame and notoriety, which brought with it ample financial opportunities. While her ability to control fire made her super, it was her heart that made her a hero, and so she used her newfound wealth and influence to found the New Chicago Animal Shelter.
But that was seven years ago. Things are different now.
The money is gone, and Samii is struggling to make ends meet. Juggling her Superheroics, career, floundering love life, and charitable responsibilities is becoming increasingly difficult.
A routine night patrol, however, leads her to enlist the aid of a shady criminal acquaintance for a rescue mission that will change her life and uncover a secret with massive ramifications for the superhero community.
